The Timeless Design Process 

Why do all Timeless Outdoors projects go through a Design Process?

Designing with the end in mind is the approach we take for all our projects, no matter how small.  By understanding the entire space and potential future uses, we can make necessary changes in a small project today to prevent any rework in the future. Thinking about a paver patio space today and an outdoor kitchen someday in the future? By understanding the long-term design intent for all spaces, we are able to make a minor construction change to that patio now to ensure the correct utilities are in place for that outdoor kitchen when you are ready!  

What if I don’t want to pay extra for any design work?

Your initial consultation fee and design fee are automatically put towards the final project cost if you select the Timeless Outdoors team to execute the project.

Step 1: The Initial Consultation

The site visit is always the first step in the design process. A Timeless Outdoors representative will visit the site to perform initial measurements, understand the desired project scope, and get a personal feel of the client’s style. Things that will be discussed at the initial consultation include the primary purpose and uses of the space, preferred style or theme, lifestyle, existing features to incorporate/remove, plant/material preferences, current site conditions, privacy concerns, building design complements, project timeline, regulations or HOA guidelines to consider, irrigation, lighting, sustainable/ eco-friendly elements

Step 2: Dream Concept Designs Developed (2 included with the design fee)

Once the design fee is paid, our in-house designer will generate two 3D Walkthrough Video concept designs for client review: the first design is intended to most closely align with the client’s expectations from the initial consultation. And now for something completely different…. the second design takes a fresh look at the space from the designer’s perspective, incorporating some Timeless Outdoors Signature Elements and inspiration from around the globe. Additional concepts beyond the standard two can also be drawn for a fee.

Step 3: Concept Designs Presentation

Both the Concept Design and the Dream Design will be presented in person to the clients by a Timeless Outdoors representative who will guide them through the walkthroughs, gather feedback on both concepts and work with the client to determine which concept to move into the next step of the design process: Refinement.

Step 4: Final Design Refinement + Proposed Phasing

Once a concept is selected, the designer will refine the chosen concept based on the client’s feedback during the Concept Designs Presentation. The design process can be iterative – the Timeless Outdoors team will work with you every step of the way.  Once the final design is completed and agreed upon, phasing options will be developed along with final material quantities, budgets, and project timelines for each phase of the Project.

Step 5: Project Phasing Quotes

Project Phases, quotes, and designs are presented to the client. We hope you choose to move forward from design to realizing your outdoor lifestyle dreams!

What if I don’t move forward with the project within 90 days?

The designs are forever yours! While we cannot refund consultation and design fees (or apply them to the project later than 90 days after quote delivery), you are free to keep the dream alive!
